Candle Safety & Care Tips
Safety Guidelines:
- Always burn candles within sight and on a heat-resistant surface.
- Keep candles away from flammable materials, children, and pets.
- Do not burn candles down to the very bottom of the container; leave at least 5mm of wax to prevent overheating.
- Burn your candle for a minimum of 2 hours and a maximum of 4 hours per session.
- Trim the wick to approximately 1cm before each use.
Candle Care Tips:
- First Burn Matters: Allow your candle to burn for 3–4 hours on the first use. This ensures the wax melts evenly across the surface, preventing tunneling and maximizing the candle's lifespan.
- Trim Your Wick: After each burn, trim the wick to 5–6mm and remove any carbon buildup (often seen as a "mushroom" shape). This helps maintain a clean and consistent flame.
- Avoid Draughts: Place your candle in a well-ventilated area, away from draughts, to prevent uneven burning or a flickering flame.
- Extinguish Safely: Use a candle snuffer or try "wick dipping" to extinguish the flame gently. Wick dipping involves using a metal tool, like the end of a teaspoon, to dip the wick into the melted wax and then upright it again. This method minimizes smoke and keeps your wick primed for the next burn.
- Protect Your Surfaces: Always place your candle on a heatproof surface and avoid moving it while the wax is liquid.
Important Reminder: Never leave a burning candle unattended, and ensure the flame is fully extinguished before leaving the room.
