Candle Safety & Care Tips

Safety Guidelines:

  • Always burn candles within sight and on a heat-resistant surface.
  • Keep candles away from flammable materials, children, and pets.
  • Do not burn candles down to the very bottom of the container; leave at least 5mm of wax to prevent overheating.
  • Burn your candle for a minimum of 2 hours and a maximum of 4 hours per session.
  • Trim the wick to approximately 1cm before each use.

Candle Care Tips:

  1. First Burn Matters: Allow your candle to burn for 3–4 hours on the first use. This ensures the wax melts evenly across the surface, preventing tunneling and maximizing the candle's lifespan.
  2. Trim Your Wick: After each burn, trim the wick to 5–6mm and remove any carbon buildup (often seen as a "mushroom" shape). This helps maintain a clean and consistent flame.
  3. Avoid Draughts: Place your candle in a well-ventilated area, away from draughts, to prevent uneven burning or a flickering flame.
  4. Extinguish Safely: Use a candle snuffer or try "wick dipping" to extinguish the flame gently. Wick dipping involves using a metal tool, like the end of a teaspoon, to dip the wick into the melted wax and then upright it again. This method minimizes smoke and keeps your wick primed for the next burn.
  5. Protect Your Surfaces: Always place your candle on a heatproof surface and avoid moving it while the wax is liquid.

Important Reminder: Never leave a burning candle unattended, and ensure the flame is fully extinguished before leaving the room.
